Michael GilbertEnergy & Sustainability
Michael Gilbert is the Director of Energy & Sustainability at Fairstead, where he leads the company’s sustainability initiatives around energy, water, waste and environment across the company’s national portfolio. Prior to joining Fairstead, Michael was manager of business development for Con Edison, where he was responsible for developing project opportunities for energy efficiency, demand response, demand management, energy storage, distributed generation, customer resiliency, microgrids and electric vehicles for over 10 million customers in the greater New York City area.
He was a commercial energy manager for a large industrial company and worked in management consulting for several domestic and international clients. Earlier in his career, he worked for the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) on both hazardous waste remediation and international development.
Michael holds a BS in agricultural engineering, an MS in environmental engineering from Cornell University, and an MBA from the University of Connecticut. Michael is a member of the City of White Plains Sustainability Committee and is a licensed Professional Engineer and Certified Energy Manager.
