Fairstead’s long-term preservation of Federation Sunrise will significantly reduce the property’s carbon footprint and enhance on-site amenities. Fairstead’s 12-month rehabilitation plan includes: the modernization of all units including new kitchens, bathrooms, flooring, windows, HVAC upgrades, extensive renovations of common areas including the community room, management office, and addition of a fitness center. Fairstead is also carrying out substantial site work focused on strengthening the building’s resiliency against climate change, including the use of impact glass at all window and door openings, and generator upgrades to ensure electric continuity during all weather events.
Additionally, Fairstead aims to strengthen community and enhance the well-being of its senior residents with a robust social services program. Components of the program include: education, meals programs, health awareness, employment services and assisted home care, and curated targeted resident events. Fairstead also supports an exclusive free bus service between the building and many of Sunrise, FL’s senior attractions.
